Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I am delighted to announce that the Global Anglican Council has agreed that the headquarters of the Global Anglican Communion will be established in Abuja, Nigeria.

This decision was made at our meeting in Recife, Brazil, on Saturday 22 August 2026, as we considered how best to strengthen and support the future life and ministry of our global fellowship.

Abuja already holds a significant place in our history — it was there at G26 earlier this year that the Abuja Affirmation declared that Gafcon has reordered the Anglican Communion into a truly Global Church.

Gafcon Europe invite you  to come together for a time of prayer and fasting, seeking the face of God and calling upon His Name for the advancement of His Kingdom and the fulfilment of His purposes in our generation.

News As many of you know, in 2025 Gafcon GB&E broadened its scope as an organisation to include the whole of Europe. As a result, we have rebranded as Gafcon Europe, and you will notice some subtle changes reflecting this development. We wanted to remain faithful to the work that had gone before this transition, and so we are deeply thankful to all those who led and served under the Gafcon GB&E identity. We hope that the changes we have made honour that legacy well.

The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord. The communion is a fellowship of churches who submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, whose life and teaching is revealed in the Scriptures. The leadership of the Canterbury Instruments of Communion have failed to exercise discipline and maintain the biblical witness and uphold fundamental Anglican doctrine as expressed in its Reformation Formularies (the Thirty-nine Articles and the 1662 Book of Common Prayer including the Ordinal). We are returning the Anglican Communion to its roots. The Global Anglican Communion is not a new Communion, but the historic Anglican Communion reordered from within.

From 3 to 6 March 2026, orthodox Anglican bishops will gather in Abuja, Nigeria.

This isn’t a new communion. It’s the same church—reformed yet again by God’s Word …. affirming continuity with the reformers who restored the English church to the faith of the fathers …. moving from colonial relic to global fellowship …. a worldwide fellowship that refuses to trade biblical truth for cultural approval.

This isn’t just an Anglican story. It’s an evangelical one. Whenever God’s people refuse to compromise on the authority of Scripture, whenever they reform failing institutions to contend for the faith once for all delivered, whenever they choose Christ over cultural accommodation—there is encouragement for all of us.

Gafcon reorders the Anglican Communion with only one foundation of communion, namely the Holy Bible and rejects the so-called Instruments of Communion, namely the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lambeth Conference, the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC), and the Primates Meeting, which have failed to uphold the doctrine and discipline of the Anglican Communion.

Bishop Mullally has repeatedly promoted unbiblical and revisionist teachings regarding marriage and sexual morality. She cannot provide leadership to the Anglican Communion since she has failed to guard the faith and is complicit in introducing practices and beliefs that violate both the “plain and canonical sense” of Scripture and “the Church’s historic and consensual” interpretation of it. (Jerusalem Declaration statement 2). We pray that as she takes upon herself the weight of this historic office, she will repent, and earnestly work with the Gafcon leadership to mend the torn fabric of our Anglican Communion.

Gafcon Primates have summoned the world’s orthodox Anglican bishops to gather in Abuja, Nigeria, from 3 to 6 March, 2026.

We need funds to gather authentic Anglicans, guard God’s gospel, grow orthodox leaders, and generate missional resources, to God’s glory. Will you join the everyday Anglicans who have already given generously?

As I take on the responsibility as Regional Secretary for Gafcon in Europe. I hope to meet many of you in the coming months, but for now I want to encourage us to pray for the work of Gafcon in this region of Europe.

It is a great joy that Bishop Tim’s appointment to this full-time, dedicated role, will allow him to continue providing a relational episcopacy to those serving as leaders in the local AMiE churches and to lead AMiE in its vision of starting and strengthening churches for the salvation of many and the glory of God. 

Bishop Andy continues as diocesan of the Gafcon-established ACE (Anglican Convocation in Europe), and as Presiding Bishop of the Gafcon-established Anglican Network in Europe (ANiE).
